Spiti Tour From Delhi

Your Spiti Valley tour package begins with an overnight Volvo journey from Delhi to Manali. You can board the bus between 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. from any of the designated boarding points - RK Ashram Marg Metro Station or Kashmiri Gate. Sit back, relax, and enjoy a smooth ride through the night as you make your way towards the mountains.

Upon reaching Manali in the morning, check in to your hotel after 11:00 a.m. Then settling in, take some time to rest and allow your body to acclimatize to the increasing altitude, an important step before your journey towards Spiti Valley. If you wish, you can explore nearby attractions such as Old Manali and Mall Road. But we strongly recommend keeping the day light and relaxing at the hotel to ensure proper acclimatization.

Dinner will be served at the hotel, followed by an overnight stay in Manali.

Your journey to Spiti truly begins today. We will start early and depart from Manali at 7:00 a.m. for a scenic 200 km drive to Kaza, which takes around 8 to 9 hours.

The route offers some of the most dramatic landscapes in the Himalayas. We will pass through the iconic Atal Tunnel (Rohtang Tunnel), continuing towards Batal, Chatru, and the stunning Kunzum Pass, known for its snow-clad peaks, pristine valleys, and surreal high-altitude scenery.

By evening, we will reach Kaza, the administrative capital of Spiti Valley. Enjoy a warm dinner followed by an overnight stay.

Today is dedicated entirely to exploring the cultural and natural treasures of Spiti Valley. After breakfast, we start with a short 12 km drive to the iconic Key Monastery, the largest and oldest monastery in Spiti, known for its fort-like architecture and breathtaking hilltop views.

Next, we continue towards Hikkim, home to the world’s highest post office and polling station. Many travellers choose to write a postcard to themselves, a beautiful way to preserve memories of your Spiti journey.

From Hikkim, we proceed to Langza, famous for its giant Buddha statue overlooking the village and for its ancient fossils scattered around the region. This picturesque village lies about 16 km from Kaza.

Our next stop is Komik Village, one of the world’s highest motorable villages at 15,027 feet. Here, you can visit the historic Tangyud Monastery, known for its castle-like architecture with thick slanting mud walls and battlements.

After completing sightseeing, we drive towards Tabo Village. Tonight, you’ll experience an authentic local homestay stay, offering warmth, hospitality, and a glimpse into Spitian life. Enjoy a delicious dinner made with local ingredients, followed by a cosy overnight stay.

After breakfast at 8 a.m., we begin our day by visiting the historic Tabo Monastery, often called the “Ajanta of Himachal Pradesh.” This ancient mud-built monastery is renowned for its beautiful murals, intricate paintings, and centuries-old sculptures.

Next, we drive to Dhankar Village, once the old capital of Spiti Valley, known for its dramatic cliffside setting. Here, we explore the majestic Dhankar Monastery, perched high above the confluence of the Spiti and Pin rivers.

Travellers seeking a bit more adventure can opt for a short 3 km trek to Dhankar Lake. This is completely optional, but those who choose to go will be rewarded with peaceful views of a high-altitude lake surrounded by rugged mountain scenery.

After exploring Dhankar, we make our way back to Kaza. You may explore the Kaza local market in the evening if time permits. Dinner and overnight stay in Kaza.

After breakfast at 8 a.m., we begin our scenic drive towards the enchanting Chandratal Lake. Our first stop is the famous Chicham Bridge, one of the highest bridges in Asia, offering breathtaking canyon views.

From here, we continue our journey through the stunning landscapes of Spiti Valley, stopping at Losar Village for lunch. Losar is the last village of Spiti before we begin the ascent towards Kunzum Pass, known for its prayer flags, panoramic views, and sacred significance.

By evening, we reach the ethereal Chandratal Lake, often called the “Moon Lake”. Its crystal-clear turquoise waters and the 360° Himalayan backdrop make it one of the most beautiful sights of the entire Spiti trip. You will enjoy an unforgettable camping experience under the stars at Chandratal. (The lake is located 2.5 to 3 km from the nearest campsite; vehicles are not allowed directly up to the lake.)

Dinner will be served at the campsite, followed by an overnight stay in cozy tents.

Today marks the final day of your memorable Spiti Valley journey. After breakfast, we depart from Chandratal at 8:00 a.m. and begin our return drive towards Manali.

The route takes us once again through the dramatic landscapes of Kunzum Pass, rugged mountain terrain, and flowing streams before we rejoin the Manali highway. We will then continue through the iconic Atal Tunnel, completing the scenic journey back to Manali by evening.

Upon arrival in Manali, you will have time to relax before boarding your overnight Volvo bus to Delhi.

This morning 10 to 11 am, you will arrive in Delhi, marking the end of your unforgettable Spiti Valley tour. After days of adventure, breathtaking landscapes, and serene Himalayan experiences, you return with beautiful memories and stories that will last a lifetime.
