    All about the Bhrigu Lake Trek.

    Bhrigu Lake is located in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh at an evaluation of 4,300 meters. It is around 20 km north of Manali. Bhrigu Lake is one of the stunning grassland treks in Himachal  Pradesh. This trekking trail will also offer you to experience the breath-taking views of Hanuman  Tibba, Seven Sister Peaks, Deo Tibba, Indrasan, Pir Panjal ranges and many more. The region is a  paradise, as it has lush greenery, meadows, streams, snow-capped mountains, dense forests which makes it even more beautiful. 

    Bhrigu Lake also holds a historical and religious background; locals believe that there is an association of the Lake to Sage Bhrigu since the pious soul is known to have performed deep meditation and rituals in the banks of the lake hundreds and hundreds of years ago. The ideal months are before June and after August because of the pleasant climate.     1. Day 1 Arrive in Manali and Drive to Gulaba (24 kms). Trek to Gulaba Campsite

      Here start our journey to Bhrigu Lake Manali journey, as we first arrive at Manali bus stand by 10  AM. Later proceed to Gulaba which takes about 2 hours to reach there depending on the traffic and is 22 kms away.

      Once we get to  Gulaba, we will be moving towards Gulaba Meadows Campsite passing through the dense forests and meadows alongside Manali and Solang Valley. Here we also get a chance to witness the most popular mountain ranges like Mt. Hanuman Tibba, Seven Sisters, Shitidhar Peaks originate from the  Beas Kund Valley. In the evening we will reach the campsite and will enjoy evening snacks. Overnight stay at Gulaba basecamp.

    2. Day 2 Gulaba to Rola Kholi (12,500 ft approx.) (7 kms, 4-5 Hrs)

      The next day we will go for a hike to the Rola Kholi Campsite. After having breakfast we will start hiking by 9 AM. The Trek to the Rola Kholi is a steep slope. During the trail you will experience the beauty of mesmerizing peaks Mt. Hanuman Tibba and Seven Sisters.  

       

      Rola Kholi is the best choice to make on the journey of Bhrigu Lake as it is enclosed with mountains peaks on three sides and the river flowing closely. In the afternoon you will arrive at the campsite where you will have your lunch and can take a rest. It is advised that if you are carrying extra luggage then leave it to the basecamp before starting the next day’s trek because the route is quite challenging.

    3. Day 3 Rola Kholi to Bhrigu Lake (14,000 ft) and back to Rola Kholi (10 kms/7 Hrs)

      Today will be a tiring and long day, after having breakfast by 5 AM we will start trekking by 5:30  AM. For the expedition, we will carry lunch with us. It is better to start earlier so that we get more time to explore Bhrigu Lake. En route, you will get an opportunity to see the change of colour on every turn you make from green to brown and even snow-white during winters.  Once you arrive at the Bhrigu Lake you will be stunned to see such fascinating views, the lake is frozen most of the year. The lake is enclosed by grass and beautiful alpine flowers during the summer season. In the afternoon after having lunch and exploring the lake we will also witness the breathtaking views of Pir Panjal peak and Dhauladhar Range. After spending some time we will go back to Rola kholi campsite and overnight stay over there.

    4. Day 4 Rola Kholi to Gulaba and drive to Manali (22 km Drive, 4 Hrs trek )

      On the last day of the trail we will come back to the Gulaba Basecamp. The trek is 4 km but It is not a challenging trek. Once we reach Gulaba we will move back to Manali. We will arrive at Manali by around 5 PM. Here we end our beautiful journey to  Bhrigu Lake Trek.

       

    The ideal months are from June to October because of the pleasant climate. It is advised not to go during the monsoon season because there might be the possibility of landslides and other natural calamities.

    Bhrigu Lake Trek has an easy to moderate difficulty level in comparison to the other high altitude treks. 

    Yes, there is nothing to worry about because there are a large number of female travellers who travel alone. There will be guides for your convenience. Also as organizers, we make sure that female travellers share their tents only with other female trekkers. 

    Proper nutritional Breakfast, lunch and evening snacks will be provided to you as mentioned in the Itinerary. Also, we will only serve vegetarian meals as in higher altitudes it is easier to digest. 

    For Bhrigu Lake Trek good physical and mental health is expected but it is regarded as  suitable for the beginners to explore higher altitude trekking destination.  

    The lead guide person will be the skilled and competent personnel. They are the locally sourced and there are other members too of the team including cook, porters and helpers. 

     It is very essential to bring the medicines as prescribed by your doctor. Booking team will  send you the essential list according to the list. Also, for your gadgets carry your own charger or  camera batteries. 

    It is advised to bring good trekking shoes because it is very important to wear during the  Trek. 

    The minimum age limit is 14+ years to join this Trek and also it totally depends on the fitness level of an individual.  

    Bhuntar Airport is the nearest airport to reach Manali. It is 52 km away from Manali.  KUU is the airport code for Bhuntar Airport. This airport is informally known as the Kullu Manali  Airport. There will be taxi or cab facility provided to you outside the airport to reach your destination.  

    Though you can reach Manali by fight or train but many travellers like better to travel by  road to enjoy the beauty alongside. To reach Manali you can take buses, Volvo services from Delhi  which covers a distance of 522 kms. The well maintained highways NH1 and NH 21 lead the way  from Delhi to Manali. Kullu has a good connectivity of regular bus services of Himachal Pradesh  Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) from different parts of the country including  Chandigarh, Shimla, Ambala, Dalhousie etc. 

    During the summer season, the temperature goes around 20-25C in the daytime and falls down to 5-7 degree celsius during the night time. In the winter season during the daytime, the temperature gets low with  10-15 degree celsius and closely 0 to -7 degree celsius at night. Thus, because of the cold weather, you have to cover yourself with warm layers at night.
